Members of Parliament are given many opportunities to speak on important issues in their electorates and across the state during the Parliamentary sitting week. These speeches can range from Community Recognition Statements and Private Members Statements which allow members to recognise the achievements and hard work of community members and speak on any matters of concern affecting constituents, to debates on important bills and committee reports in an effort to shape legislation into a form that will work best for the local electorate
