$658 MILLION SYDNEY CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL UPGRADE COMPLETE
We promised to deliver better hospitals and that's exactly what we've done with the new $658 million dollar upgrade to the Sydney's Children's Hospital, Randwick now complete.
Working with Premier Chris Minns, we’ve opened the new 12-storey Bilima building and an expanded emergency department three times the size of the previous facility.
This upgrade signals a new era for paediatric care in NSW, driven by cutting‑edge research, seamlessly integrated services and thoughtfully designed environments that will support your children, friends and families with getting the local healthcare they deserve.
In addition, the new Bilima building brings a suite of new and expanded paediatric services to Randwick, including:
- An enhanced children’s intensive care unit;
- A new medical short‑stay unit;
- A dedicated neurosciences centre;
- A new virtual care centre and hospital command centre, Kids HQ;
- Inpatient units for medical, surgical and sleep study services;
- A day oncology centre, inpatient oncology units and a dedicated bone marrow transplant unit;
- Co-located laboratories to support the Minderoo Children’s Comprehensive Cancer Centre’s research, education and training;
- A new children’s hospital pharmacy;
- Indoor and outdoor recreational spaces for families; and
- Education, training and clinical simulation facilities.
We are committed to delivering the health services and workforce we need across the Eastern Suburbs.
