By the time a new public secondary college opens in the eastern suburbs, Bronte mum Licia Heath’s sons will be too old to attend.
But that hasn’t stopped her from giving the education department an old school lesson in people power.
Ms Heath’s lobby group Community for Local Options for Secondary Education (CLOSE) successfully mounted a campaign which resulted in the new Inner City High School being opened in Surry Hills this year.
